About Nicholas
People sometimes ask how a communications consultant ends up training as a counsellor. The honest answer is that the part of the old work I loved most was never the communications — it was helping people navigate change. For fifteen years I worked with executives and organisations across Asia through restructures, relocations, new leadership, and the kind of announcements no one wants to make. The work that stayed with me wasn't the strategy decks or the town halls. It was the quieter conversations afterwards: the manager worried he wasn't cut out for the new role, the employee trying to decide whether to stay or go, the leader who couldn't quite say what was actually wrong. What I noticed, over and over, was that the situation itself was rarely the problem. The problem was the story people were telling themselves about the situation — and when that story shifted, even slightly, so did everything else. Change doesn't only come from boardrooms. It comes from a marriage that's lost its rhythm, a teenager who's pulling away, a move across the world, a career that once fit and suddenly doesn't, a loss that rearranges everything.
Most of my clients arrive at a threshold of some kind, looking for a clearer sense of what's happening and what to do about it.
A note on working with men and boys
I'm especially drawn to work with men and boys — partly because there aren't enough male counsellors in Singapore, and partly because I think a lot of men arrive at counselling later, warier, and with less language for what they're feeling than they need. That's workable. Most of them just need someone who assumes they're capable, speaks plainly, and doesn't waste their time.

Travel Therapy
Travel has the power to transform us as individuals and work magic on our relationships. But why do some people return from overseas more exhausted than when they left, and why do some couples come back from a journey closer than ever despite facing all types of problems? I help individuals and couples explore the 'why' behind their travel goals and dreams so they can experience fully mindful travel.
